Information for Homeowners
Attention Property Owners!
Selling your home? As of April 8, 2009 a new ordinance was passed requiring a Construction Records Clearance Certificate (CRC). This certificate will be required on the sale of all residental and commercial properties. This application should be filed by the seller or the seller’s agent.
The purpose of the CRC is to ensure that all permits obtained through the building department for the particular Block and Lot have been inspected and closed by the appropriate Sub-code inspector. It also ensures that the seller took ou the necessary permits for work that might have been performed to their home; i.e., finished basements, water heaters, furnaces, wood stoves, shed, etc. This will give the new property owner assurance that all work performed the property was done with a permit and has been completed in accordancewith the current building codes as required by the State of New Jersey at the time of the work.
The CRC application should be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the closing date!
Please call Michele Bobrowski at 996-7071 ext. 11 for more information. An electronic copy of the CRC application can be found by clicking on the following link: CRC Application.
